What's Lake Pano?

Lake Panorama is a large storm-water pond in Henderson Heights, Auckland. With a sweet walkway around the pond, surrounded by some interesting vegetation, it's a hub for the Lake Panorama community and is always buzzing with people and activity.Nearby, you'll find fantastic strolls through Paremuka Wetland, urban trails across Paremuka Stream, fun times at Xena Playground, and many fantastic installations from our creative community - featuring painted rocks, fairy doors, and more!This place is so special, we want to keep it safe and looking great. We're going to replant some of the bare patches, get some effective pest control happening, and repair the fencing in areas that look like a hydro-slide heading into the lake.Following that, we're going further and will enhance the area with some awesome features, like plant labels, magical trails, educational signs, historical info, fun quizzes, scavenger hunts for all ages, and more!But wait, there's still more! - We want to engage and reconnect with the community, so this group was created to do just that. It's not all working bees and H&S fixes!Join Friends of Lake Pano and you'll receive invitations to community events, neighbour days, easter egg hunts, Westie Rock events - you name it!No really - submit your ideas and we will try to make it happen! It's all about the community and everyone pitching in - be it with a bit of rodent control or ideas on how to connect - we welcome everyone in the community!

Lake Pano Species Lists

A record of all species noted at Lake Panorama. Please submit any species spotted that are not on the list and we will add them.
We are seeking to compile a list for the surrounding areas (Xena Park and Paremuka Wetland) and welcome any submissions to get the lists started for those areas.
Note: Plant record is a WIP - we have 70+ plant species recorded but have to upload to the website manually which takes time.
